This PV4 connector case study explains how PVLinkTech supplied IP68 PV4 connectors and Y-branch cable assemblies for a 120MW floating and ground-mount solar project in Indonesia. The connector configuration was selected for a 1,500V DC system operating in a humid tropical environment.
The project involved a 120MW solar PV installation in Indonesia, combining floating and ground-mount applications. The EPC contractor required a DC connection solution for outdoor cable routing across a site exposed to humidity, seasonal rainfall, ultraviolet radiation and changing temperatures.
For a utility-scale solar project, connector selection is not limited to choosing a product with a stated protection rating. The connector has to match the cable specification, system voltage, branch layout and installation method.
PVLinkTech reviewed the project requirements before supply and prepared a PV4 connector and Y-branch cable assembly configuration for the confirmed 1,500V DC solar system.
