This waterproof connector FAQ gives purchasing teams, engineers, distributors and equipment manufacturers practical answers about IP66, IP67 and IP68 waterproof connectors, cable selection, samples, MOQ, custom cable assemblies, certifications, lead time, international payments and overseas delivery. Use the information below to narrow down your specification before requesting a quote from PVLinkTech.
These are useful starting points for purchasing. Final electrical ratings, IP protection, certification coverage, stock availability and commercial terms should always be confirmed against the exact model and quotation.
Start here when comparing cable size, ingress protection, solar connectors and high-current energy-storage connections.
Start with your application, voltage, current, pin count, cable outer diameter, installation method and operating environment . For outdoor and industrial applications, also consider temperature, vibration, moisture, UV exposure and corrosion.
For photovoltaic applications, see our solar connector selection guide . If you are comparing termination methods, you can also review screw-free vs screw-type waterproof connectors .
The first digit 6 means dust-tight protection. IP66 addresses powerful water jets, IP67 covers temporary immersion under defined conditions, and IP68 applies to immersion under conditions defined for the specific product.
The rating should always be checked together with the complete mated assembly, cable sealing method and the exact documented test conditions. For more detail, see our IP67 vs IP68 waterproof connector guide .
| Rating | Water protection | Typical consideration |
|---|---|---|
| IP66 | Powerful water jets | Exposed outdoor equipment and washdown environments. |
| IP67 | Temporary immersion | Outdoor equipment, industrial systems and BESS. |
| IP68 | Immersion under product-specific documented conditions | Applications requiring a higher level of water protection. |
Confirm the finished cable outer diameter, conductor size, rated current, rated voltage, pin count, operating temperature and required IP protection .
The cable OD must fit the connector’s sealing range, while conductor size, current and voltage must match the contact and insulation system.
| Parameter | What to confirm | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Cable OD | Actual finished cable diameter | Must fit the sealing range. |
| Conductor size | Wire gauge / cross section | Determines terminal compatibility. |
| Current | Maximum continuous load | Prevents undersizing of contacts. |
| Voltage | System operating voltage | Determines insulation requirements. |
| Pin count | Power / signal circuit count | Defines connector layout. |
| IP rating | Required environmental protection | Must match the actual installation conditions. |
PVLinkTech currently offers high-current energy storage connectors from 70 A to 500 A, up to 1500 V DC, with IP67 options for applications including BESS cabinets, battery modules and power distribution.
Cable size, orientation, current rating, dimensions and installation requirements vary by model. See our energy storage connector range for the current product specifications.
PV4 products are designed for photovoltaic connection applications, but compatibility should be confirmed against the exact connector models, cable size, mating interface and certification requirements .
Do not assume two solar connectors can be mixed simply because their housings appear similar. Review our MC4 and PV4 solar connector page and send the existing connector details before specifying a mixed installation.
Information for trial orders, OEM requirements, custom assemblies and production planning.
Yes. Selected standard PVLinkTech products are available from 1 piece for product evaluation, prototypes, replacement requirements and small trial orders.
Sample availability should be confirmed against the exact model before payment.
MOQ depends on product type, stock availability, customization, packaging and tooling .
Selected standard models can start from one piece, while fully customized manufacturing projects may have higher production minimums. Mixed-model orders can be reviewed according to the models and quantities required.
| Order type | MOQ approach | Lead-time approach |
|---|---|---|
| Standard stock model | Selected models from 1 piece | Typically 3–5 business days before shipment. |
| Custom cable / marking | Confirmed per project | Confirmed after drawing and specification review. |
| New tooling | Production MOQ confirmed per project | New tooling may require around 20 days. |
Yes. Depending on project feasibility, customization can include cable length, wire gauge, connector configuration, terminal type, housing, color, marking, labels, packaging and cable assemblies .
New tooling and certification requirements are evaluated separately. See our custom waterproof connector manufacturing capabilities .
Yes. Selected products can be supplied as pre-assembled cable assemblies based on your required cable type, wire gauge, cable length, connector, terminal, labeling and packaging .
Assembly requirements should be confirmed during quotation so the cable and connector specification can be reviewed as one system.
Technical documents and compliance coverage should always be checked against the exact model and destination market.
Depending on the connector model, available documents may include datasheets, dimensional drawings, electrical ratings, cable ranges, material information and product specifications .
Visit our waterproof connector datasheets or send the model number so we can confirm the files relevant to your project.
PVLinkTech holds management-system certifications including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 .
Product certification and compliance coverage varies by exact model and target market. Available product-level documentation may include UL, cUL, TÜV, CE, UKCA, SAA, CQC, RoHS or other applicable documents.
See our certificates page and confirm the exact model before ordering.
Quality control includes specification review, material and component control, manufacturing-process control, assembly inspection and outgoing checks appropriate to the connector model.
For further information, see our quality control process .
Order preparation, international transit and payment terms are confirmed separately so purchasing teams can plan more accurately.
For standard products already in stock, orders can typically be prepared within 3–5 business days.
Non-stock products, custom cable assemblies, new tooling, special packaging and large-volume orders require separate lead-time confirmation. Preparation time does not include international transit time.
Yes. PVLinkTech supplies overseas customers and can arrange shipment according to destination, shipment size, product weight, order value and required delivery time .
Freight, transit time, import requirements and applicable Incoterms are confirmed with the quotation or shipping arrangement.
PVLinkTech supports international payments in multiple currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, HKD, SGD, NZD and CNY .
For regular production orders, bank transfer (T/T) is commonly used. For eligible samples and small-value orders, payment can also be supported through PayPal and credit card.
The available payment method, receiving currency, bank details and payment terms will be confirmed in the quotation or proforma invoice before payment.
Warranty and after-sales handling follow the confirmed product specification, quotation and order terms.
If cartons or products arrive damaged, keep the original packaging, photographs, labels, product details and order information.
Our team will review the case against the confirmed order terms and provide the appropriate resolution. Product suitability should also be confirmed before installation or volume use.
Warranty terms are confirmed according to the product model, application and commercial terms stated in the quotation or order documents.
If an issue occurs, keep your order information, photographs and relevant product details so the case can be reviewed against the confirmed specification.
Supplying the basic technical information first helps reduce quotation revisions and makes model selection, sampling and production planning more efficient.
